Guess What This Is……..
Hello Everyone,
I’m back with the answer as to what the image is below.
It is Corbezzolo.
I suggest for you to try delicious Corbezzelo honey, which is by the bees feeding on the Corbezzelo scrub, a kind of Arbutus, also known as the ’strawberry tree’ that grows wildly in the island of Sardinia’s mountainous interior.
You can drizzle this somewhat bitter, yet sweetly delicious honey atop vanilla ice cream, or serve alongside cheese, as an accompaniment. Click here to purchase your own Corbezzolo honey to try at home.
Buon Appetito!

Hi Lidia,
My guess would be hickory nuts ripening on the tree….. ? I’m an ardent fan of yours… I watch your show all the time on Channel 8 - Create! I appreciate your style, the information you give us, the wondeful recipes that just make your mouth hunger and the trips to Italy! Someday I would love to dine al fresco with you in the Italian countryside and then sip some limoncello as we watch the sun slip down. Until then, I’ll visit you through my t.v.! Happy Autumn to you and yours, Lidia. Thank you for all you do for us happy viewers!
Ciao
Carol

Caperi? I’m just making a bad guess… and the closer I look, the worse the guess seems. The REAL reason I was writing was that I just finished watching a rebroadcast of your Strudel episode. As much as I appreciated you and your talented family before, I have doubled that. To see the look on your daughter’s face as you walked through your ‘first home’ in Trieste, and to see the love that exists between you and Grandma Arminia made me grateful for all the blessings of table and family that even the wisest often take for granted. So fORgive me for trying to disguising an ardent fan letter for a bad answer to a quiz (i mean it doesn’t even LOOK like a caper vine!)… but I couldn’t go to sleep tonight without saying ‘grazie mille’, and asking God to bless you AND every member vostra familglia bellisssima. Deepest thanks, Skip Osborne
p.s. I think you should sing MORE OFTEN!!!!!

My guess would be coffee beans in different stages of maturity.
I enjoy your shows and now truly enjoy reading your website and blog. Your cooking is part of our family. I regret that your magazine didn’t continue.

I need some help. I have made homemade ravioli twice, but I can not get the hang of. Maybe I am rolling out my dough to thin. Do you have any extra pointers for me? On your shows you make it look so easy.

Hi Lidia. This looks like a strawberry tree to me. If you have one, I’d love a recipe using these fruits.

Hi Lydia, I know what it is!
It is corbezzolo! And in Croatian is planika … I use to walk by the sea and eat it when I was a child … it is difficult to find it now, I don’t know why (at least on the island where I spend all my summer vacation).
I love your blog! Greetings from Rome.

Hi Lidia,
I think they are radishes. Love your show!

I guess I blew it; upon closer examination, I’d have to say they look like lychee nuts that have not turned brown yet.

I grew up in Philadelphia and the lady up the street from us had a crabapple tree. That is what it looks like to me. I love cooking from your cookbook, ” Lidia’s Italian-American Kitchen”. I watch your show when I can. Ginger

What are you saying at the end of shows when you clink glasses?
Chi Chi or ching ching? What is the origin of that phrase? Is it Italian?

Dear Lidia,
I enjoy it so very much when you have your mother, Erminia, on your show. She is adorable. I miss my own mother. Seeing your mother always brings me memories of my mama who was a wonderful cook.

This is not a reciepy , I just want to say that my mom and I love your recent shows. She was born and raised in Napoli and I was born in Foggia. I am so proud to be Italian born but also to be fortunate and be American also. I cook more than she as her cooking is mostly pre-war and there was not so much as she says rich people food then. I love to cook and I love your family it is so much like ours. I have been to Italy a few times and have people there now. I would like to tell you my dream life and that is to work with your team. I would wash floors and do anything to get to travel with you. Love to yours from all of my family Dora in Tex.
