I’m guessing it looks like Stinging Nettle..??? My mum uses it to make tea, and also steams it and eats it like spinach. She said it was growing everywhere in Slovenia where she was as a child - I would never have thought you could actually touch or eat the stuff until I saw it with my own eyes
By the way, Congratulations on your win Lidia!
I visited Lidia’s Pittsburgh last November, from Australia. It was my most important place to stop while I was there! It was without a doubt, the BEST food I have ever eaten in any restaurant anywhere in the world, and I have been to 13 countries and enjoy my food so that’s saying something!!
Lidia - thanks for the wonderful meal my husband and I enjoyed at Felidia recently. We were the couple who came all the way from Australia to visit your restaurant and to whom you spoke.
The photo my husband took of you and me is now gracing my kitchen bench to give me inspiration. You are my culinary mentor and I call this section of the kitchen my “sacred space”.
We also had an inspirational meal at Esca. We are real “foodies”
Hey, did anyone out there write down the recipe for Pizzelle stuffed with sausage and escarole (fron the Sweet Napoli episode)? I thought I could find the recipe online but to no avail, I should have written it down.

I believe its stinging nettle, ts a bitter tasting plant but goes well with many other foods. I believe it has many herbal uses as well.
